I'll describe the process below, but first:
This listing is for three options of prints: 5x7”, 9x12”, or 12x18”.
They’re laser prints on a heavy cardstock with nice, saturated colors, and a weight that allows them to be hung with poster frames and not traditionally framed if you want to go the simple route.
Prints are signed on the front in pencil and show the date of the original release of the pattern. This reference is so fun! It lets you see the fashion during that exact time. I laugh seeing the one when my brother was born- 1969- and wonder if our dad was sporting such wild pants! (maybe!).
The process:
I collected vintage patterns, not beautifully kept, precious patterns- but patterns that were loved, used, marked up, edges frayed from their life in a sewer's possession. I love the scars of this history.First I flatten the patterns as much as possible, then- using acrylic paints- I start to "erase" the background- sometimes the colors are the strange, aged color of the pattern background, sometimes parts of the clothing. This allows me to paint the bones over the figure, following where the limbs once were. With pen and pencil, I go into the details, shading and defining the bones and skull.
These reproductions were closely matched to the originals, weird colors and all.
A question I sometimes get:
Are these originals?
No! They take me 8-12 hours to complete! I could never sell them for these prices if it was original work. I do have the originals, painted directly on the vintage patterns, but for now they’re not for sale. These prints really do them justice, so it makes me happy to make them available!
Shipping: poster size might be rolled and shipped in a tube. It depends on the packing supplies I have on hand. They will flatten, just set some books on them overnight.

I want you to be totally satisfied with your order. If it's damaged in the mail, please contact me immediately! I will make it right!
If it's not what you thought it would be, please email me through my contact form and I will discuss any issue with you! Thanks!
I ship for free because it's always a drag to put stuff in your cart and then have a hefty shipping fee added. I do include a bit of that cost into my pricing since free shipping is not free for me! I hope this helps you make purchases without stress!
